Fort Collins Youth Rugby boys fell to 3-2 in league play after losing to Holy Family 52-27 on Saturday. FCYR struggled in the first half, which gave Holy Family a 35-10 first half lead before mounting an attack in the second half that saw the final 52-27.
First half saw Holy Family jump out to a 14-0 lead capitalizing on mistakes made by Fort Collins, FCYR got on the board in the 17 minute with a penalty kick be Ethan Middleton. In the 25 minute of the match Ethan took a quick tap near the try zone and was able to dive in to make the score 21-10 but then in the last five minutes of the half two quick scores by Holy Family saw them stretch their lead to 35-10 at half.
Second half saw Fort Collins show some intensity and play a better match with Flynn Walsh scoring in the 14 minute to make the match 42-15, then after two trys by Holy Family Alex Yasumura scored to make it 52-20 and finally with just a few minutes to go in the match Ethan took another quick tap and scored the try and conversion where the match would end with the final being 52-27.
Man of the match went to the entire team for their never quit attitude in the last 15 minutes of the match.
